Identification

A screw, machine or screw, cap, socket head whose unthreaded portion is of specified grip length, plated or unplated, and is machined to a tolerance of one thousandth (0.001 in.) (0.025 mm) or less of a specific diameter for items (1.000 in.) (25 mm) or less in diameter. Items over (1.000 in.) (25 mm) in diameter shall have a tolerance of fifteen ten thousandths (0.0015 in.) (0.038 mm) or less. The nominal major diameter of the threads shall be at least one thousandth (0.001 in.) (0.025 mm) below the minimum shank diameter, but not below the minimum major diameter for applicable class of fit, as shown in the screw thread standards, fed std h28 and/or other nationally recognized standards. The head is designed to be held or driven with an inserted driver. It is not designed for rotation by the thumb and fingers. A locking feature may be incorporated in the design of the head or threads.

Thread Length
0.268 inches minimum
Details A measurement of the extent of threads, including incomplete threads, along a line parallel to the longitudinal axis.
Fastener Length
1.335 inches minimum and 1.382 inches maximum
Details The dimension, measured along a line parallel to the longitudinal axis, from the largest bearing surface of the fastener head to the extreme opposite end,or as specifically designated for other type fasteners.
Head Style
flat countersunk
Details The style designation indicating the configuration that most nearly corresponds to the appearance of the head.
Head Diameter
0.600 inches nominal
Details The length of a straight line which passes through the center of a circular head, and terminates at the circumference.
Grip Diameter
0.3110 inches minimum and 0.3120 inches maximum
Details The length of a straight line which passes through the center of the grip, and terminates at the circumference.
Shank Unthreaded Hole Diameter
0.076 inches minimum first hole and 0.081 inches maximum first hole
Details The length of a straight line which passes through the center of the shank unthreaded hole, and terminates at the inside circumference.
Internal Drive Style
high-torque
Details The style designation indicating the configuration that most nearly corresponds to the appearance of the internal drive.
Nominal Thread Diameter
0.312 inches
Details The nominal length of a straight line which passes through the center of the threaded portion, and terminates at the circumference.
Grip Length
1.000 inches nominal
Details A measurement of the longest dimension of the grip,in distinction from width.
Thread Quantity Per Inch
24
Details The number of threads on the item per linear inch measured on a line parallel to the thread axis.
Countersink Angle
100.0 degrees nominal
Details The included angle of the countersink.
Distance From Head Largest Bearing Surface To Shank Hole Center
1.211 inches minimum first hole and 1.268 inches maximum first hole
Details The distance from the shank hole centerline to the largest bearing surface of the head.
Material
steel overall
Details The chemical compound or mechanical mixture properties of which the item is fabricated.
Surface Treatment
cadmium overall
Details The metallic,nonmetallic,and/or chemical properties with which the item is plated,dipped,and/or coated.the treatment is designed to protect the surface(s) and cannot be wiped off.
Thread Series Designator
unjf
Details A designation distinguishing one group of thread diameter-pitch combinations from another by the number of threads per measurement scale for a specific diameter.
